KASAMAS & HOMIES

Fresh new track dedicated to all the kasamas...
kasama: a comrade in our people's struggle for freedom

DOWNLOAD HERE

Some kasamas is homies, some kasamas kasamas
Kasamas help the homies navigate through the drama
Through the problems that every day of life lays upon us
Making progress happen when we’re completely honest

Through the problems we be causing when we making mistakes
While the enemy attacks our people, raising the stakes
Stop the attitude of faker than fake
That dominates the present day, keeps us living as slaves

Cause the capital phase is slowly being replaced
While our people still being displaced
Lower Ninth, Manila, Samoa, Vietnam
Bougie people profit off the chaos they cause

Exploiting us, polluting up the planet
Doing hella damage, creating disadvantage
And then they manage to take away our homes
Neighborhood is gone, never make it home

But they could never stop the soul
Of the people pushing for the new world over the old
Yeah the revolutionary soul
All around the world fight with liberation as the goal

INTERNATIONAL EYE

This one's from deep in the vaults of 2007...

DOWNLOAD HERE

Yo I hit you up, you didn't hit me back
Well I'm sorry but our lives won't intersect like that
I guess my only course is to just kick back
and focus on the spots that I'mma touch on the map

Cause it's summertime 07, I'll be flying
International, that's where my eye is
Making major moves best believe I'm trying
But I can't deny it, girl your style is fire

You dropped the beat and it burnt me up
Thoroughly, inside out, upside down and such
You got my thoughts in a cobra clutch
Feeling fine even though I don't know you much

But I can't help it, girl you stirred my soul
I'm over here thinking, yo tell me when to go
I'm in the building and I'm feeling like
Gee, this young miss got me feeling like yee!

But can it be she ain't feeling like me
It's all G, I keep it cool and proceed
In the Philippines while she back in SC
I'm handling my things til I'm back in SC

While, hopefully we can kick it sometimes
Chill and make beats while we kickin some rhymes
Homegirl, the embodiment of hip-hop
Yeah she can beatbox, plus she spit that heat rock

Yeah, I feel that beat knock deep in my gut
This cut that I bust let's you know just what's up
But, it's a must I keep my crush on a hush
Just cause the picture that we're painting's bigger than us

TAPES WITH FOLDED PAPER

i remember i always loved buying Public Enemy tapes as a kid. but the main reason was because i wanted that folded up piece of paper that came inside with all the lyrics to the whole album. that was tight!

Photobucket

damn, that had a Filipino 5th grader like me singing and memorizing "I'm black and I'm proud, I'm ready, I'm hyped, plus I'm amped, Most of my heroes don't appear on no stamp!"

since then, i've consistently hated on Elvis and John Wayne. i haven't even seen a John Wayne movie in my whole life! haha, maybe that could be a goal in 2009. i gotta see for myself what Chuck D was talking about..

Photobucket

well, that's the reason behind this blog. to provide all y'all with a digital version of that folded piece of paper. from 1990 to 2009 y'all.. who would've ever thought??

we'd love to hear what you think about the lyrics. if you have any constructive suggestions or thoughts on what's being talked about in songs, please comment or email us at nikopagasa@gmail.com!

all props go to Fatgums and Gamma Ray for the music..
